Dr Sarat Cheruvu is an Australian-trained Cardiologist with special interests in advanced cardiac imaging, lipid disorders, peri-operative cardiac risk and the assessment of acute chest pain syndromes.
He graduated from the University of NSW with both academic and research honours, completing his thesis in the physiology of the renin-angiotensin system.
He completing his physician’s training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney; following which he completed his advanced training in Cardiology in the Central Coast/Royal North Shore Network.
He subsequently completed a post graduate fellowship at the prestigious Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre in St Vincent’s Hospital focusing on cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and transesophageal echocardiography.
Dr Cheruvu has a strong commitment to teaching having founded educational colleges to help students gain entrance to medicine as well as pass the physician’s training exam. He has previously worked as an associate lecturer for both University of NSW and Western Sydney University.
As a general cardiologist, Dr Cheruvu sees patients with a wide range of cardiac diseases including ischaemic heart disease, arrythmias and heart failure with specific expertise in the application of advanced cardiac imaging for the assessment of cardiovascular disease.
